Berry’s Restaurant is pretty much a landmark for the town of Norwalk. This gem of a restaurant is housed in a historic building that was constructed in 1867 and was a hotel called the St. Charles Hotel. The hotel also had a third-floor ballroom that was later removed because of safety concerns. Over the years the building had been sectioned off and served many purposes such as a cigar shop, singer sewing machine shop, barber shop and a confectionary kitchen.
” Where you’re treated like family ” is the motto at Virant’s Family Winery and they truly treat you that way. Originally making wines for friends and family the Virant’s wanted to open a winery to the public while still keeping the same friendly relaxed atmosphere. Members of the Virant family still run the winery to this day. Anyone else that works there is a resident of the close-knit community of Harpersfield, not to mention it is the place the whole neighborhood likes to hang out on Friday nights to gather for steak dinners. Come join the fun! As soon as you walk in the door you can feel the sense of community, the place kind of feels like home. Photos of neighborhood kid’s baseball teams and old family photos decorate the walls.
